Everything comes at a price. When we gain something, we are likely to lose something too. It is just that at the time of winning, we are too blinded to see what we are losing.
There is nothing terrible about achieving, winning, and expanding our horizons. However, we must know the price we are paying for it. Often, we lose too much to gain too little.
For example, we lose sleep over outcomes beyond our control, lose time and resources acquiring material possessions, lose relationships over money, and lose trust over a sale.
Maybe next time we win, we will consider asking ourselves at what cost?
