Compare and Draw Inferences that Serve us Well!

Leadership

Self-comparison with others is so natural that we often do it automatically.

Most of the time, we compare unconsciously and draw inferences consciously.

  • I may compare and infer to belittle others to boost my ego and pride.
  • I may compare and belittle myself, which is likely to crush my confidence and raise anxiety.
  • I may compare and thank God for what I have. I may attain a state of bliss.
  • I may compare and regret what I don’t have. I may get into a state of misery.

Comparisons may happen to us; however, we may have little control over drawing inferences. There is value in drawing inferences that help us. We just have to be conscious and present to draw inferences that serve us well!
