If we are building a new house, the following things would be important to us:
- Project budget
- Quality of the build
- The choices and selections we are making throughout the project
- Plan to transition to the new house
- Clear communications to all stakeholders of the project
- Warranty of the build
- Completeness of the house before the transition
The thing that we would not worry about too much are the exact day we will enter the new house. We may change the day based on multiple factors. There is no specific association with the particular date we will move.
Unfortunately, we tend to put everything aside in enterprise software projects to meet the set Go-Live date. Sometimes, meeting the set go-live date becomes more important than the project itself.
