Influential individuals who lack the necessary depth of expertise can pose significant risks. While their ability to tell persuasive stories might initially impress us, they can ultimately lead the organisation/project astray, sometimes without notice. They are not inherently bad people; rather, they are influential and out of their depth.
As leaders, it is our responsibility to recognise this risk and ensure we are not swayed by their narratives.
