Whenever we find issues and failures within projects, the vendors, ex-Project Manager, and ex-Team Members are likely the culprits. They have a track record of screwing up consistently. They know this and no longer take the blame personally. The mature ones even think being the scapegoat is part of the service offering.
However, as Business executives and owners, this narrative does not serve any purpose. If things go south, we should at least take time to find the root cause. Pro tip – It is unlikely to be the vendors or ex-Project Manager.
