Our final destination is the same: death. Only our journeys and milestones are different, however. Even with them, we have minimal control.
The questions are:
- What do we want our journeys to be?
- What are our expectations from the milestones?
- What are we prepared to sacrifice to earn the journeys and milestones we want?
For a long period of my life, I never asked such questions. Even after asking, I distract myself from the usual wonders of life. The majority of my life has gone by unexamined. For the rest, I am learning to be disciplined to experience remarkable journeys and milestones.
