The Mindset that Earns Respect!

Leadership

How can I become a leader that everyone respects?

How can I gain the trust and endorsement of my teammates?

Which words should I say that attract people around me?

How should I present myself as a leader?

There may be many other similar questions we have about leadership.

On such topics, I came across tactical advice. For example, how to provide feedback (a feedback sandwich). Further advice on the technical construct of words to please others or exert authority.

There may be a place for it. But I find it superficial and unnatural. It does not resonate with me.

Then, I came across psychological and spiritual advice. For example, it is not about me; take “I” out of the equation. My job is to help others win. The focus of such advice tends to influence my mindset. When my mindset is to serve, genuinely help, collaborate, and fight for values, I naturally say the right words in the right tone and get support.

From experience, when I serve with the right mindset, I win as a leader and for the team I serve. It seems like it is all about the mindset! It is our mindset that earns respect!
