Playing pass-pass, or heading toward the goalpost?

Governance

The Project teams juggle multiple balls (tasks). They often wear multiple hats and pretend that they have got things under control. To demonstrate this, they must have a few balls with them. There should not be anyone waiting for a ball from them.

Hence, it is common to play pass-pass. So, before the status report, the team members pass on balls to others. Each team member processes the ball and passes it on to the other.

From the outside, it looks like the Project team is working hard. But, the reality could be very different. The Project team may not be making any material progress on the task or project.

Knowing this dynamic, you must check if the Project team is playing pass-pass, or heading toward the goalpost!
