The speed of the project should never remain the same. During uncertainty, it makes sense to slow down, think, reconsider past decisions and recalibrate. It is okay to admit that we are in crisis. Then, develop a plan to come out of the crisis.

Your objective is not to follow the prescribed Project plan. Instead, it is to ensure to return value to the business as per the Business case.
Don’t shy away from delaying planned milestones and replanning the project under new information. After all, the project’s purpose is not to achieve all planned milestones. Instead, it is returning value on the capital expenditure.
