In the heat of an argument, when our egos spread out to burn other’s egos, we often forget:
- We don’t need more fire (our ego) to extinguish the other’s fire.
- In the argument, we are not discussing a point. Instead, we are feeding fire to our pride. Our pride wants us to win and look good in front of others.
- There is no difference between professional and unprofessional arguments. Passive aggression is equally harmful.
- While arguing, we are actively burning someone’s hard-earned cash. This includes people who are watching the show.
- No one starts with an argument. We slip into an argument when our brains decide to win.
- When we are fully present, we know when we are spilling into an argument. We then have the power to say that – I am not interested!
