If I want to transform into a marathon runner, I must first make a committed decision and start to develop a belief system of a marathon runner.
My beliefs will guide my daily decisions and my decisions will help me to develop new habits. Out of new habits and committed decisions one day, I might be able to become a marathon runner.
The basics of transformation are the same for organisations as well. Business or Digital transformation is about radical change. For any successful transformation, leaders must first take a committed decision. Then, develop a belief system that supports senior leadership to develop new habits for radical change. With persistence and consistent effort, the organisation may be able to transform itself.
But note that transformation is not a rosy road. It may require sacrifices before we see the results. It is not for everyone. We must have good reasons to get on this journey. Do you know your reasons?
