What is there for me?

Change Management

Think about a soldier asking his senior before getting to the battleground – what is there for me?

Similarly, a surgeon working insane hours handling another emergency case asks the same question – what is there for me?

Sometimes there is nothing for us. We just have to give. We must have to sacrifice because it is the right thing to do. We must serve to demonstrate our loyalty and integrity.

The organisational changes due to software implementation are difficult for some employees. A few of the roles need to be made redundant. Employees must learn new skills, processes and software applications. It is not easy. But it is the right thing to do for the organisation.

As leaders, it is often much more effective to come straight to the point. So, prepare the employees for the change by stating facts. Rather than paint a vague, rosy picture, help them understand what you expect from them. Help them understand the support you are offering through the change. Honesty is indeed the best policy. Your employees will value you for your transparency and integrity!
