As a sponsor, do you know what value the project you are sponsoring will add?
In simple terms, the software automates business processes. So things will be quicker, and business will likely improve its efficiency. But look in little more detail. You will find that software is expected to change end users/stakeholders’ behaviour, habits and interaction with your business. It is all about change. Do you know which areas within your business are going to change? How will the change affect the stakeholders? How are you going to support the future state?
Ultimately, enterprise software implements are about a change. Therefore, determine the extent of change and manage every aspect of the change in your favour!
