Sometimes, the writing on the wall is crisp and clear. Everyone can see it, but no one talks about it. It may be because we are busy, follow norms, feel shy, think it is not our problem, and start to believe – it is what it is.
Yet, when one of us (usually an outsider) chooses to read aloud, the rest cannot agree more.
What is on the wall could be either good, bad or neutral. We need to state the obvious and constructively deal with the facts.
Here are a few common writings on the wall for reference:
- The manager is out of his depth yet pretends to know everything.
- The consultant complicates simple things.
- The company does not care about us.
