Humans are creatures of habit, bound by their behaviours. We tend to act in the same way when faced with familiar circumstances.
Someone may apologise for their negligence, outbursts of anger, or moments of unkindness. They may offer excuses, perhaps even sincere ones. Yet, in all likelihood, they will repeat the same behaviour before long — not out of malice, but simply because they are human.
As leaders, it is essential to recognise these behavioural patterns and habitual cues. By doing so, we equip ourselves to make better decisions — for our own well-being, for others, and for the organisations we serve.
