While counting my calories, I sometimes eat to please the app instead of my body.
At work, I may focus more on hitting KPIs than helping a colleague in need.

We’re drifting into a world where we serve algorithms instead of using them—becoming pleasers instead of creators, artists, thinkers, or rebels. Algorithms are wonderful for structure, for keeping the basics steady. But once we start living by their boxes and ticks, we hand over our judgment to the machines we built.

We must protect what makes us human—our messy, intuitive, creative edge. At home and at work, genuine connection should matter more than metrics. Awareness more than automation.

If we fail to stay awake to this truth, we risk losing the very strength that built the algorithms in the first place: our curiosity, our originality, our humanity.
