There is no direct link between age and wisdom. Yet with time, life teaches us through experience and observation. As we grow older, we start to see those ahead of us more clearly and realise that vitality slowly fades. To stay relevant and “in the game,” we must find new ways to create value for our clients and employers.
Our bodies rarely improve with age. If we’re fortunate, we learn to adapt—to work differently, to rely more on judgment than strength, and to accept that our reflexes and energy have limits.
This is why organisations must not keep people at the same level indefinitely. Without succession planning and continuous learning, experience can turn into inertia. Each of us must keep learning, growing, and preparing for a future where our physical capacity declines—but our ability to think, guide, and create value can still rise.
Age doesn’t limit us; resistance to change does.
