When we’ve already walked a path, our perspective on it changes over time. Others who are just beginning often see it very differently.
At that moment, we have choices to make:
- We can be ignorant and boost our ego by claiming we know better.
- We can be arrogant and shout at them to follow us because of our experience.
- We can be clever and take advantage of their lack of knowledge.
- Or we can be humble—listening with empathy, leading with servant leadership, and using our experience to guide them with good intentions, helping them walk the journey with confidence and success.
In the end, these choices don’t just show our experience—they reveal who we are.
