It takes too long to get anything done in this organisation.

Vs

I wonder why it takes too long to get anything done in this organisation.

The apple fell to the ground from the tree.

Vs

Why did the apple fall to the ground?

Our business systems are too convoluted. They do not integrate, and the staff does not fully utilise them.

Vs

What are the possible solution options to improve the integration and utilisation of the current business systems?

The latter sentences in the above examples are more valuable as they do two things. It allows us to take action and leaves us at a curious stage. It is the state where the magic happens!

However, our busy schedules, deadlines, and procedures come in the way. They bound us to go with the flow and not question. We are being conditioned not to question and mind our business. It is by design. However,  we have a choice to break this cycle.

Sometimes I am able to do it by being curious and putting myself in the driver’s seat.
