Creativity is in scarce supply. We often talk about it, hear and lecture about it, but seldom experience it in our day-to-day lives.
Why?
Maybe because our society likes us to fit in with what we have.
Maybe because our education system is busy teaching the rules of each subject. There is no concept of nudging students to challenge the set rules. Students are busy preparing for the same traditional questions, missing out on asking ground breaking questions.
Maybe in the organisations, we train employees to fit into the boxes of the job titles. We tame employees to follow the rules, check the boxes, and say the right things.
If we are systematically training new generations as our exact replicate, creativity is likely to continue to be in scarce supply.
