If death is the ultimate truth and I have no clue when I will take my last breath, then the present moment is all I truly possess. This very instant has become the most valuable time I have ever had.
Plans, goals, and aspirations matter. They provide direction and purpose. But I cannot sacrifice today for the mere hope of tomorrow. After all, who knows if tomorrow will ever come?
That said, living purely in the present does not mean neglecting actions that benefit the future. If I disregard exercise and healthy eating today, I may forfeit my well-being tomorrow. Likewise, without saving money or working hard, I undermine the foundations for a secure future.
Clearly, such logic does not fully hold in the real world. If I am hopeful about tomorrow, I should prepare for it positively, all while knowing that nothing is guaranteed and life can change in an instant.
