ERP/CRM projects take at least a few months to complete. Therefore, there is enough time to assess the project’s progress and make an informed judgement if the project can fail. The vendor Project team generally has a very good idea about the root cause of the possible failure.
The challenge is that the project resources don’t openly table their concerns.
As a Sponsor, it is a crucial point to note. ERP/CRM projects do not fail by accident! They fail due to negligence, lack of governance, and not addressing issues in time.
