Feeding Ourselves

Leadership

Most human interactions are, deep down, a way of feeding ourselves.

On the surface, they may look kind, generous, or selfless. We help, we serve, we give. But if we peel back a few layers, many of our actions are actually serving our own ego—seeking validation, control, or a sense of worth.

We often label some behaviours as good and others as bad. But truthfully, both can be driven by the same inner hunger. The only difference is the angle we view them from. Shift your perspective, and what once seemed noble might reveal a subtle craving for recognition. What seemed selfish might come from fear or a need to feel seen.

You might wonder—why does this matter?

It matters because when we begin to see that everyone is feeding their own ego in some way, we soften. We judge less. We begin to relate to people with a sense of oneness. Underneath all the doing and serving, we’re not so different.

We’re all just busy, in our own ways… feeding ourselves.
