The final phase of ERP implementation is known as the Stabilise phase. It begins after the system goes live and the Hypercare period wraps up, typically lasting for around three months.
The goal of this phase is to ensure that the ERP system—and the changes it introduced—are fully embedded across the organisation. During this time, end users take ownership of new processes and workflows, and begin using the system effectively and confidently. Business-as-usual (BAU) support structures are put in place, along with a clear, structured process for ongoing system improvements.
The business takes full responsibility for the ERP platform and its individual modules. Governance structures ensure new users are inducted, and all users are trained and retrained as needed, so the ERP continues to be used for its intended purposes.
Change doesn’t stick on its own. It requires time, structure, and governance. A successful Stabilise phase doesn’t happen by accident—it must be deliberately and thoughtfully planned.
