Forcing others to take action requires my effort, time, and mental energy. Therefore, I must have strong reasons to do so, and it must be a temporary endeavour—just enough to help them cross a minimum threshold and see the possibilities for themselves.
For instance, I force my kids to clean their room, and over time, they begin to dislike untidiness, naturally keeping their space clean.
I push the project team to follow critical Project Management processes, hoping they’ll recognise the value and adopt these practices on their own in future projects.
The point is, we cannot force others indefinitely. When we must, we must be strategic about creating a pathway for lasting change.
