In general, as customers, we hold a position of power. The service providers are meant to provide the best possible service, customer care and warranty. Therefore, when we speak, we are meant to be heard.
We possess the position of power (either direct or subtle).
The question is, how are we using our power?
We can try to get away by not doing what we have agreed.
We can sit on critical decisions and rush the vendors when we have made the decision.
We can allow customer-side deliverables to slip and expect the project to finish on time.
Look, the vendors are trained to be nice to us, so they will likely let us get away with this.
But, we must ask ourselves how are we using our power. There are better ways to use the power we possess.
