As leaders, if we want support from our people, we need to let them know. We do this by being real, showing our imperfections, and acknowledging that we don’t have all the answers. It’s not about being the smartest person in the room, but about recognising the strengths and contributions of those around us.
Our people want to contribute; it’s safe to assume that. Our role is to create an environment that encourages and fulfils their desire to serve.
