Influencing others is liberating—it allows us to have a positive impact effortlessly. In contrast, controlling others is constraining, as it demands our time, energy, and resources.

In leadership, both influence and control have their place, but understanding their differences and consciously minimising control can be remarkably freeing.

Yet, it’s all too easy to default to control, entangling ourselves in the process.
