Physical distance from our tribe often leads to emotional distance too. When we’re not physically present, it becomes harder to truly share in their joys and sorrows. Over time, we start to live in different emotional worlds.
We may still care deeply, but without being there—especially during moments of heightened emotion—we can’t fully connect.
As leaders, this reminds us of something simple yet profound: our presence matters. We may not always be able to fix problems or offer solutions. That’s not the point. What matters is showing up.
Our presence carries a weight that logic can’t explain—because connection is felt, not reasoned.
