It is often perceived as safer to adopt a more conservative approach—think twice, proceed with caution, and ensure a measured response. Let others make decisions when needed, providing a shield to cover and protect yourself. This way, you gather enough evidence to demonstrate that every box has been ticked along the way, minimising risk and avoiding mistakes.
However, the alternative is to play it fully—take chances and embrace a more natural, perhaps even wild, approach. Play hard and be direct, tackling problems head-on without hesitation. This strategy is about being real and authentic rather than conforming to what is merely appropriate or ‘safe.’
Both approaches have their place, depending on the situation. Ultimately, we get to choose who we want to be. While our time on planet Earth is limited, I much prefer to play hard and stay true to myself—being real rather than pretending to be ‘right’ or simply playing it safe!
