Many consider politics a dirty word. Yet, it’s an essential part of human existence. The moment there is more than one person involved, politics naturally emerges. Even in our inner world, when one part of us says yes and another says no, politics is at play—each part negotiating influence over the final decision.
The problem isn’t with power, influence, or authority itself. The real issue arises when those in power begin to self-serve and compromise their values and integrity.
Being naïve about politics only creates more room for those who exploit it for personal gain. Perhaps that’s one of the main reasons politics continues to earn such a bad name.
