Protect the feedback!

Leadership

Overconfidence, arrogance, and obsession blind us for far too long. They make us ignore the very signals that keep us alive. Many market leaders fell not because of competitors, but because they stopped listening.

Every system survives on feedback. Feedback keeps balance. It maintains sanity. Whether it is our own body, a business unit, or an entire economy—feedback is the pulse that keeps the system alive.

Yet feedback rarely flows freely. It is hidden, softened, ignored, or reshaped to paint a rosy picture. Sometimes it is manipulated—not just to protect egos, but to reshape the whole narrative of the system. And once the narrative bends, the system bends with it.

When you see a dysfunctional system, fixing issues one by one is rarely enough. Repair the feedback loop, and the system begins to repair itself. That is the essence of sustainable change.

In your project, how do you seek feedback? What do you do with it? Do you present facts as they are, allowing the system to respond honestly? Or do you filter the truth to protect yourself?

Remember, protect the feedback, and the system will protect itself.
