In ERP implementations, the Project Manager is usually responsible for delivering the project on time, within budget, and to an acceptable quality standard. If those constraints are met, we celebrate and call it a success.
But real success does not end at go-live.
There are milestones that follow—quiet, often unseen, and rarely measured. Here are just a few:
- Improvements in business KPIs
- Better customer, employee, and stakeholder experiences
- Stronger risk management functions
- Greater transparency and access to information
- ROI aligned with the original business case
- New opportunities the ERP has unlocked
This list can go on.
The point is: never stop measuring. Never stop asking what’s improving—and what’s not.
These gains won’t shout for attention. You have to look for them. Because if you’re not looking, you won’t see them and perhaps miss them.
