Right seeds are rarely planted in comfort

Leadership

Sacrifices I make today are seeds I am sowing.
My restraint, discipline, and dedication to the mission are watering those seeds. In time, they may bear the fruit of prosperity and wellbeing.

In simple terms, I am choosing discomfort today for strength tomorrow.

Yet our society is conditioned for instant gratification. The pleasure must be immediate. Rewards must be visible now. Waiting for tomorrow feels unnecessary, even foolish.

With such conditioning, we often invite two types of leaders to guide us.

First, the weak leaders. Their main objective is to remain employed. They present a comfortable picture of today and an optimistic promise for tomorrow. Time quietly passes while little truly changes.

Second, the self-centred leaders. They know exactly what people want to hear. They speak with confidence and promise simple solutions. They charm us with strength and certainty. Over time, they pursue their own interests and move on.

Meanwhile, society keeps deteriorating, still hoping that someone will come to rescue it.

Real change rarely comes from rescue. It begins with self-discipline. It grows when individuals commit themselves to a mission, when societies choose leaders grounded in reality, and when cultures reward meaningful work rather than comforting illusions.

It is difficult. It is painful.
Yet the right seeds are rarely planted in comfort.
