The Status Quo Will Win Again!

Digital Transformation

There is always a better way of doing things.

It may be automating and streamlining business processes, improving system integrations, or improving decision-making with business intelligence. There is no limit to improvement.

The problem is that we get so used to the status quo that we don’t look for better ways. Over time, we become accustomed to living with problems and inefficiencies. We start to believe that nothing much can change. So, we even don’t ask basic questions.

Maybe asking the following questions is a good starting point:

  • Does our existing enterprise software (ERP/CRM) fully support our organisation? If yes, how do we know?
  • Do we know where the bottlenecks are? What can we do to resolve them?
  • Do we have complete transparency within our business? Why not?
  • Do we have a system in place to onboard employees and induct them into the ways of working within our business?
  • Do we know what processes we want to standardise and what processes we like to be flexible?
  • Have we set basic KPIs for staff? How are we measuring and improving them?
  • What innovation means to our organisation?

These questions are difficult to answer. So, due to your busy schedule, you are likely to park these questions. This may be the exact reason why the status quo will win again!
