Not every problem needs to be fixed.
And not every problem deserves your time, energy, or resources.
As leaders, our role isn’t to solve every issue immediately. Instead, it’s to identify which problems truly require attention—because our resources are limited, but problems are infinite.
Start by encouraging your team to log problems in one central place. Ask them to add context and detail—not just report the issue, but describe it.
Then, treat problems with time. With time, you’ll notice:
- Some problems resolve themselves (false alarms).
- Priorities shift.
- The real issue becomes clearer (symptoms vs root causes).
When you give problems time, you gain clarity. And with clarity, you’ll know which problems truly deserve your resources. The rest? They just needed space to breathe.
