I often catch myself thinking negatively about others and making judgments, forgetting that we are all different. Unconsciously, I start comparing others to myself, as if I am the benchmark for some universal human assessment matrix.
It’s astonishing how often I fall into this same trap. I find myself wondering why others don’t feel motivated to lose weight, embrace change, summon the courage to fight, or strive to earn more. But what I fail to remember is that we’re all unique. Each of us is playing our own distinct role on the giant stage.
My role is not better or worse than anyone else’s. Perhaps what I truly need is a deeper understanding of others—a willingness to adapt myself to work with them as they are rather than trying to manipulate them to align with how I am.
