Ideas constantly fall out of conversations. Some are ordinary, others can be good, and a few are great when we get lucky.
As leaders, we are not listeners, but miners. We keep mining until we get some good or great ones out. We mine by controlling the discussion scope, limiting long monologues, asking great questions, evaluating assumptions, and guiding the conversations down unexpected paths.
This mining is fruitful only when we act hungry and determined to dig relentlessly until we become lucky!
