People get groundbreaking ideas at unexpected moments—during work, play, sleep, or leisure. Some conversations, meetings, or small incidents quietly alter the direction of a life. Some memories stay with us forever and are cherished with the people we love.
Most of us have had such moments. They require only a curious, open, and present mind.
What we rarely notice is what we lose by winning arguments, belittling others—publicly or quietly—or protecting our ego at all costs. To receive anything, we must first develop the capacity for it. A bottle can only be filled if it is open and held the right way under the tap. An inverted, closed bottle receives nothing.
To gain insight, creativity, or possibility, we must become seekers.
It sounds simple, yet many choose to guard pride and ego instead of staying open. In doing so, they unknowingly close themselves to ideas, growth, and the unexpected gifts life offers.
