When Solutions to Problems Create New Problems!

Visioning and Selection

Often, we jump on the solutions. The new solutions, in turn, create more problems for us.

For example, suppose we have weak sales capabilities. In that case, we may jump to a solution to implement new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Similarly, we may want to procure separate Asset Management software for lack of proper asset management capabilities. This is when solutions to problems create new problems!

It will worsen matters if we don’t address the root cause of the problems and throw random solutions (like automation).

Offering solutions gives us a sense of achievement and progress. However, the solutions must support us in resolving the given problems.

Therefore, consider writing and agreeing on the root cause of the problem. Then, work with the team to address the root cause of the problem.
