On the way to school, my daughter asked me a simple but powerful question: “Which type of business will AI have an impact on?”
My answer was: “Every business—directly or indirectly.”
To my understanding, there isn’t a single type of business that will remain untouched by AI. The impact might show up as pressure from management to use AI tools and optimise operations. It could come through direct competition—where AI-based services outperform traditional offerings. Or, it might be more subtle, like shifting expectations from customers, suppliers, or the broader market.
In some cases, the disruption may even challenge the very purpose of a business, creating an identity crisis and increasing strain on the economy. We are all part of this change—whether we’re driving it, adapting to it, or simply trying to keep up.
