It is one of the most critical and least understood questions. You need to know this as soon as the project work starts. i.e.
Who is accountable for the Digital project?
It is vital to know who is accountable for the project’s success. Is it the Project Sponsor or Project Manager? More importantly, why?
Ask all these hard questions upfront. For example, does Project Sponsor have enough time, capacity and capability to be held accountable for the project? Which training and skills do the Project Sponsor should learn to fulfil the duty. What is the escalation path if the Project Sponsor does not perform the duties appropriately?
The problem is that we play too nice during the project start and do not bring these vital questions. Instead, we deal with them when it is too late and messy.
Do not make this mistake!
